As the 16th century came to a close, the groundwork for modern astronomy was being laid by the Dane, Tycho Brahe. Improving upon existing astronomical equipment through instrument design and calibration, Tycho was able to achieve observations far more accurate than any which had been done up to that point. Able to correct for atmospherinc abberations, Tycho plotted the stars and planets with great accuracy, providing Johannes Kepler with the information needed to accurately plot the orbits of the planets. By challenging the views of his contemporaries, Tycho Brahe ushered in a new era of astronomy.

The Newtonian reflector design does not suffer from the chromatic aberration present in other telescope designs. A 1600mm focal length allows you to achieve useful magnification up to 600x.
